MELBOURNE, Australia - 08/03/2007 - A Van Gogh painting
now in the collection of the National Gallery of Victoria in
Melbourne has been found to be a fake! The Van Gogh painting
titled "Head of a Man" had an estimated value of $21.4 million
before the change in attribution.
Tests on the Van Gogh painting were performed by art experts
at the van Gogh museum in Amsterdam. The Van Gogh painting has
been in the gallery's collection since 1940. Naturally, the
National Gallery of Victoria is disappointed that this van Gogh
painting is not a real van Gogh.
