PARIS, 10/08/2007 - A famous Claude Monet painting was
damaged by vandals on Sunday, October 6, in Paris' Orsay
Museum.
The group was caught on suveillance camera and exited when
an alarm sounded. One of the vandals punch the Claude Monet
painting titled "Le Pont de'Argenteuil" (The Argenteuil
Bridge) leaving a 10-centimetre hole, probably using a
fist. Claude Monet's painting is typical of the 19th century
impressionist style, whose central focus was the painting of
light and color.
No arrests have been made in the vandalism of Claude Monet's
painting, but it appears to have been done during an annual
night-long festival featuring fun, music and exhibits. The
subject of this painting by Claude Monet is a bridge and
boats.
