The <em>Domus Aurea<\/em>, a popular site with tourists, was closed down due to safety concerns in December, 2005 because of water leaks causing fear that it might collapse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Italian government has pledged $5.27 million in funds to repair the famous <em>Domus Aurea<\/em> and other archaeological sites from erosion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <em>Domus Aurea<\/em> was &#8220;rediscovered&#8221; in 1506 by Italian Renaissance artists who admired its <a href=\"https:\/\/finearttouch.com\/blog\/?page_id=13#fresco\">frescoed<\/a> walls and <a href=\"https:\/\/finearttouch.com\/blog\/?p=10080\"> classical Greek sculpture<\/a> which were collected for the <em>Domus Aurea<\/em> by Nero during his brief reign 2000 years ago.
